To strengthen the Georgian diplomatic corps, our diplomats undergo mandatory or optional training courses provided by us.
Leval Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia was founded in 2012. Our main goal is to improve the professional development of the diplomatic service staff, as well of civil servants of other government agencies and thus to contribute to the implementation of Georgia’s foreign policy strategy.
The programme gives foreigners living in Georgia a unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of Georgian history and culture through a diverse range of lectures and tours of various museums and other places of attraction. The programme lasts for two months and is offered for free.
“I would like to declare that the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Institute has played a vital role in my professional growth as a diplomat. The programme gave me the opportunity to acquire knowledge from highly qualified experts in different areas on a variety of topics, so important for the successful and professional implementation of diplomatic duties.”
“The successful implementation of foreign policy is hardly conceivable without properly trained diplomats. I am delighted to note that the Diplomatic Institute continues to work effectively in this direction and, apart from offering professional development to Georgian diplomats and other civil servants, is also engaged in efforts to raise awareness of Georgia and create a positive country image”.
“Participation in a special training course for civil servants offered by the Diplomatic Institute has proved to be a really useful experience for me. Lecturers, many of whom are former ambassadors of Georgia to various countries, won our great approval. It was interesting to learn from their practice and experience”.
“Due to my consular duties, I had daily communication in the Turkish language with representatives from both public and private organizations. Without having completed the course and gained a basic knowledge of the language, it would have been very difficult for me to communicate at all. Consequently, I would like to thank the MFA management and staff of the Diplomatic Institute and to wish them every success in their daily work”.
„I am so happy that the Diplomatic Training and Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is named after Ambassador Levan Mikeladze, who was a good friend of mine. They could not have picked a better person to name the Institute after, because he cared deeply about Georgia, Georgia’s Foreign policy and also the young diplomats who are trained here.”
The Institute offers analytical articles and research papers on important aspects of foreign policy and international relations prepared by Institute researchers and invited experts.
