Diplomacy and International Policy

The training course is designed for junior civil servants just entering the diplomatic service. The aim of the course is to equip the participants with the practical skills and knowledge they will need to improve their performance as diplomats, to get promotions to higher grade positions and appointments at Georgia's diplomatic representations and consular offices abroad.

Duration:  6 months (1200 hours, 12 modules)
Working Language:  Georgian


Graduates of the course will be able to: 

Do the analysis of international developments ◦ make well-founded opinions ◦ provide written communication ◦ participate in diplomatic negotiations ◦ prepare high-quality analytical reports ◦ provide consultations on foreign policy-related issues. 

Mandatory Training for
Consular Officers

The goal of the training programme is to prepare the staff for performing consular functions at Georgia’s consular offices abroad and to equip them with necessary consular competences including effective communication and crisis management skills.

Duration: 6 months  (200 hours)
Working language: Georgian


On completion of the course, participants will have an understanding of: 

Consular responsibilities ◦ diplomatic etiquette ◦ effective communication ◦ management in unpredictable and stressful situations ◦ use of specific information technologies  

 Foreign Language Courses 

Our Institute has been offering foreign language courses to employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2013. An increasing number of participants have already learned English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Turkish and German by taking classes at our Institute. 

Presently, we offer French, Spanish, Turkish and German language training courses. Each level will take up 7-8 months. Classes are held twice a week (duration of each class – 1.5 hours).
