The Diplomatic Institute has designed About Georgia for foreign diplomats and other foreigners living in Georgia. We offer our guests illuminating insights into Georgian culture and history to help make their stay in the country a truly rewarding experience. 
The course consists of several components, including a series of lectures and tours of prominent cultural centres in Tbilisi. Philologist and lecturer, Levan Gigineishvili, offers captivating presentations on Georgia’s European past and development. Founder of Tbilisi Photography House, Nestan Nijaradze, expounds on Georgia’s visual memory through its profound photographic heritage. Translator and dramatist, Davit Gabunia, will help participants navigate their way through the labyrinth of Georgian literature. 
The course includes lectures on Georgia’s architectural heritage and a history of Georgian diplomacy, tour of the Occupation Museum and the Georgian National Museum’s gold collection, sightseeing in Old Tbilisi and beyond, and a visit to the beautiful region of Kakheti. These elements have been carefully designed to awaken both an interest and understanding of Georgia’s rich history and cultural diversity; from its political upheavals to its gastronomic delights, but moreover, we aim to make your visit to Georgia a truly unforgettable experience.


About Georgia is offered free to any visitor to Georgia. Its duration is one month and is held twice a year, in spring and autumn. 

If you are a foreign diplomat accredited in Georgia or a foreign national living in our country and are fed up with hearing incomprehensible conversations and checking online dictionaries for vocabulary and enthusiastic about expressing yourself in Georgian, you are close to making this wish a reality. Our institute and the Language School are offering a special language course for you to learn Georgian and navigate you though its unique grammar.
